Morning drive from Antananarivo. You will have a stop in Ambatolampy to visit a forging and foundry workshop. The artisans of Ambatolampy are especially skilled in producing different kind of utensils and items made of aluminum. These products are sold in almost all the marketplaces of the town and are even exported all over the country. After the visit, you will reach Antsirabe by lunch time. In the afternoon, go for a city tour by “pousse-pousse” (a local means of transport).

Today, you have a full day excursion in the lake Tritriva, a wonderful site which stands out for its impressive landscape. To reach this place, you will be escorted by car to the park entrance and will start trekking from there to go around the lake. The walk will be lead by a local guide who will tell you the legend of Tritriva and show you the area.

Back to town at the end of the afternoon.

After breakfast, take the road to Morondava. The trip will last about 8 hours and a half. You will have a lunch break on the way. Upon arrival, you will be directly escorted to your hotel to relax after the long trip.

Today, head on to the North to reach the community village of Kivalo. Your trip will be divided in two parts. In the first part, you will travel by 4x4 on a sandy secondary road. The ride lasts about an hour. Once you arrive at a village called Mangily, you will have to walk about half an hour to reach the canoe embarkation place (waterproof sandals and light clothing are recommended at this stage). There starts the second part of the expedition. Enjoy the beautiful extraordinary landscape of Kivalo Soa Honko (the great mangroves of Kivalo) through crossing the river. The canoe trip lasts about an hour until you reach the community village.

Once you arrive, you will be warmly welcomed by a folk show performed by the locals. After that, enjoy a tasty Malagasy lunch based on local products. In the afternoon, you will have time to discover the village and participate in some daily activities of the villagers. For the night accommodation, you have the choice between camping or staying with a host.

Enjoy a last morning with the local population of Kivalo. After lunch, you will take the road to Kirindy forest which is located in the North-East. The trip lasts about an hour. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel.

The Kirindy private reserve is one of the most outstanding and threatened wildlife habitats in Madagascar composed by a dry deciduous forest, whose extension has been reduced to 3 percent of their original extent. Dominated by majestic baobab trees and a forest canopy which make the reserve a very authentic one. After visit, drive back to Morondava, passing through the famous Baobab alley. Have stop to take picture, and enjoy this incredible moment, the sunset that you have not to miss on this way.
